Institute for Patient Care Departments

The Institute for Patient Care, housed within MGH Patient Care Services (PCS), represents a first-of-its-kind, innovative model for advancing multidisciplinary health care. The Institute is comprised of four separate centers that together encompass several key tenets of the PCS commitment to delivering the highest quality health care: professional development, research, innovation and patient education.

2012 Annual Report

This year has been full of exciting development and outcomes in our goal to advance and support exemplary patient care for our patients and families. The Institute for Patient Care housed within the MGH Patient Care Services (PCS) is a first-of-kind innovative model for advancing care. It is comprised of four centers: The Center for Innovations in Care Delivery, The Maxwell & Eleanor Blum Patient and Family Learning Center, The Norman Knight Nursing Center for Clinical & Professional Development, and The Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research. The Institute also includes interdisciplinary programs and initiatives including the Knight Simulation Program, Collaborative Governance, the Clinical Recognition Program, and PCS Awards and Recognition Program.

2011 Annual Report

Once again it has been an incredible year for the Institute for Patient Care. Each of the four Centers, the Maxwell & Eleanor Blum Patient and Family Learning Center, the Center for Innovations in Care Delivery, the Knight Nursing Center for Clinical & Professional Development and the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research has been thriving. The programs such as Collaborative Governance, Clinical Recognition, Simulation and the organizational initiatives to eliminate hospital acquired pressure ulcers, alleviate pain and utilize evidence-based practice in the care of the elderly are reshaping the way in which care is delivered.
