About the Institute for Patient Care

Unit Service Associate (USA)

The Unit Service Associate (USA) plays an integral part in a positive patient and family experience. Being the front line staff for maintaining a clean environment, the USA orientation is a collaborative effort between the Department of Nursing and Environmental Services. The program is designed as a faculty-led, hands-on experience of demonstration with repeat demonstrations, which may be followed by a precepted or supervised, on-unit period of time at the discretion of the Environmental Operations Manager.
