Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research

The Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research is housed within the Institute for Patient Care. It is designed to offer nurses at the MGH an opportunity to use, develop and translate nursing research to improve patient care. The Center was inspired by the vision and dedication of Yvonne L. Munn, RN, MSN and her desire to advance nursing research at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Through the generosity of Mrs. Munn and the support of Peter Slavin, MGH President, much has been accomplished, including the acquisition of a physical space and the development of an infrastructure to support nursing research activities. The official dedication of the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research (May 7th, 2008) acknowledged the Massachusetts General Hospital and its commitment to nursing research and interdisciplinary research collaborations that foster high quality, safe, efficient, patient-family centric care.

The Research Center Team

There is a growing team of researchers and staff within the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research, prepared to assist MGH nursing staff, faculty, students and others within and external to the MGH with nursing research initiatives. These members include Dr. Dorothy Jones (Director of the Center); Linda Lyster, MM (Staff Assistant to the Center); Dr. Diane Carroll (Nurse Researcher); Dr. Susan Lee (Nurse Scientist); and Senior Nurse Scientist Dr. Mary Duffy, statistical and research methodology consultant. Dr. Jeffrey Adams is a Nurse Scientist working in the area of executive leadership and practice. In addition, Elaine Cohen, RN, MS works within the Center as the professional development manager, and Ryan K. Sullivan, BS, MBA is the Grants Manager/Administrator.
