The Cardiac Interventional Unit on Ellison 11 is a thirty-six bed Cardiology Unit. Staff on this unit specializes in the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, heart failure and other vascular diagnoses. Most patients on this unit require coronary or peripheral procedures, either diagnostic or interventional. Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit
Blake 8 is an 18 bed intensive care unit. Patients on this unit have undergone a surgical procedure for the treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic disease, congenital heart disease, lethal arrhythmias, sudden death experiences and end stage heart disease requiring cardiac transplantation or insertion of a ventricular assist device. Ellison 8 is a thirty four bed adult Cardiac Surgical Step Down Unit. Patients are primarily admitted post operatively from the Blake 8 - Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Patients are also admitted pre-op for cardiac surgery. Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic disease, congenital heart disease, lethal arrhythmias, S/P coronary bypass graft, S/P valve replacement, ACID placement, and permanent pacemaker placement.
