The Orthotics/Prosthetics Department provides patients with custom fabricated braces (orthoses) and prosthetic devices (prostheses). It acts in conjunction with physicians, therapists, and nurses to provide patients with devices, which are appropriate to their condition. DEPARTMENT FUNCTIONS The primary function of the department is direct patient care. This involves:
STAFF The department has 4 practitioners and a technical staff who evaluates and treats patients. For available positions on this unit please visit our website at www.mghcareers.org. LOCATION AND SCHEDULE There are two locations for the department:
The department is staffed Monday through Friday (except for Holidays), and has a Practitioner on Standby for EMERGENCY IN-PATIENT assistance ONLY during non-business hours. Appointments are preferred, however walk-in patients are accepted.
