Brain Tumor Support Group

For brain tumor patients and their families

What: This is a support and psycho-educational group for brain tumor patients and their loved ones.
When : The group meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 12:00-2:00PM, except on holidays.
Where : Mass General, Yawkey Building. Please call for correct meeting location.

This group is free and open to all. Lunch is served.

This group is organized by the Social Service Department and funded by the Pappas Center for Neuro-oncology.


Support for people with oral, head and neck cancers

What : It's a support group for people with oral, head, and neck cancer.
: This group meets one Tuesday every other month from 6:00-7:30 PM, September-June.

This group is a local chapter of the national group Support for People with Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer.

Lung and Esophageal Cancer Support Group

Drop-in support group for those living with lung or esophageal cancer.

What: A drop-in support group for patients with lung cancer and other thoracic cancers. The group's purpose is to provide a place for patients to be supported as they cope with the demands of diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

Multiple Myeloma Support Group

Support and education for people with multiple myeloma

What : A drop-in support group that combines patient education with support. Please call prior to attending your first meeting.
When: This group meets from 1:00-3:00 PM on alternating months.

This group is organized and run by the multiple myeloma team, Mass General Cancer Center.

Prostate Cancer Support Group

For patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.

What : This is an ongoing support and educational group for patients with prostate cancer. Light refreshments are served. Pre-registration is required.
: The group meets monthly.

This group is organized by the Social Service Department & the Department of Genitourinary Cancers.

Young Adult Cancer Support Group

A support group for individuals 20-40 years old, currently being treated for cancer

What : This is a membership only support group for men and women ages 20-40, who are currently being treated for cancer. This is a closed group, with intake required.
When: NOTE: group currently NOT running. Contact group leader to be added to waitlist or for referral.

This group is organized by the Social Services Department and affiliated with the Cancer Center.

Cancer Support Groups for Black Men and Women

What: The Lazarex-MGH Cancer Care Equity Program’s Cancer Education & Wellness Group for Black Men & Women facilitates wellness education and emotional support for cancer survivors of color and their families and friends and provides a safe place for black men and women to give and receive support as they face unique challenges during and after cancer treatment.
