About Patient Care Services

If you are unable to sit-up, OR you need someone to carry you up or down stairs in your home, unfortunately there are few transportation options available to you. You may want to consider staying somewhere without stairs for the duration of your treatment, if possible.

Ambulance

Ambulances are generally the only form of transportation that will carry someone in and out of their home. Unfortunately, ambulance transportation is extremely expensive. Your health insurance may cover this if your doctor says an ambulance is medically necessary, but coverage typically cannot be confirmed before your trip.

We suggest you discuss this with your doctor or social worker and check with your insurance company in advance.
