Clinical Pastoral Education Residency

Five positions are available in Massachusetts General Hospital’s Interdisciplinary Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Residency Program - September 9, 2024 - August 29th, 2025. This 12-month program consists of three units of CPE, with focus on medical ethics, research literacy, and chaplaincy leadership.

  • Learn side-by-side with seasoned healthcare providers
  • Develop a clinical practice informed by practice, enriched by experience
  • Serve in every specialty and sub-specialty of medicine and surgery
  • Specialize in clinical services such as Palliative Care, Oncology, Cardiac Care, Neurosciences, Solid Organ Transplant, Psychiatry, Pediatrics
Tuition $1,500 for residency program
Stipend $46,696 plus medical/dental insurance and earned time
Prerequisite One unit of Level I CPE (must be completed at time of application for residency program). Masters of Divinity preferred.
Application fee $75.00 (non-refundable) check or money order made payable to MGH CPE
