This section will provide you with information about how to respond to a disclosure of abuse, what services are available at MGH and the community, and how to access trainings on understanding intimate partner abuse in the healthcare setting.

Intimate Partner Abuse is a health issue. In addition to injuries, intimate partner abuse contributes to several health problems including depression, alcohol and substance abuse, arthritis, sexually transmitted infections, migraines and stomach ulcers. Early detection of abuse can potentially minimize the long term health impacts.
